Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp almond flour
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp low-carb sweetener or to taste
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tbsp melted butter or coconut oil
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar-free chocolate chips plus extra for topping
  • pinch of salt optional

Equipment

  • Microwave-Safe Mug
  • Spoon or fork

Method

  1. In a microwave-safe mug, whisk together almond flour, cocoa powder, sweetener, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Add in the egg, almond milk, and melted butter (or coconut oil). Stir until fully combined and smooth.
  3. Fold in the sugar-free chocolate chips, reserving a few for the top.
  4. Microwave on high for 50–70 seconds, depending on your microwave’s power. The cake should rise and still be slightly moist in the center.
  5. Let it cool for a minute before eating. Enjoy straight from the mug or top with whipped cream for extra indulgence.

Notes

Adjust sweetness to your preference. For extra decadence, add a drizzle of sugar-free chocolate syrup or a few raspberries on top.
