  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded, divided
  • 4 eggs large
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened ketchup or tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp mustard yellow or Dijon
  • 1/2 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef with diced onion and garlic until beef is browned and onion softened. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Spread mixture evenly into prepared baking dish.
  4. In a bowl, whisk eggs and heavy cream until smooth. Pour over beef mixture.
  5. Top with half of the shredded cheddar. Bake for 20 minutes, then sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Continue baking 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Cool slightly before serving. Garnish with pickles, lettuce, or tomato if desired.
